Nor-Tech Portable Cluster named 'Best in Show' at ISS Las Vegas, NV, April 17, 2008 —Nor-Tech is pleased to announce that the Portable Cluster has been honored as Best in Show—Most Innovative Server Product at the Intel Solutions Summit.
Recognizing a demand in the Supercomputing
industry for mobile high-performance computing with practical power requirements,
Nor-Tech developed a line of clusters that range from the high-end ruggedized
Portable Cluster to more affordable, lightweight Personal Clusters. Available
in various modifiable rackmount cases (including military shock-mounted
models that adhere to MIL-SPEC standards) the clusters run cool, save
energy and are able to operate up to 128 processor cores on just two 120VAC
20-amp circuits. Nor-Tech has developed and built clusters
for a wide variety of scientific applications, including projects funded
by the NSF, NIH and
DARPA. For more information on Nor-Tech’s complete
line of cluster solutions, visit: "Nor-tech has demonstrated the possibility of innovative solutions by utilizing the high performance of Intel’s latest quad-core processor technology, said Eric Thompson, Intel’s North America sales and distribution director. “Although we had several strong contenders for the server category this year, Intel felt that the Nor-Tech Portable Cluster was a very unique product and deserving of the title Best-in-Show." Intel’s annual Solutions Summit is held as an opportunity for channel partners to engage with industry leaders and learn about new business-building products and solutions strategies. Each year, the North American Channel Marketing team uses the Intel Solutions Summit as a vehicle for recognizing outstanding performance and achievement from the prior year. Related: What are the
