Nor-Tech showcases Portable Cluster at Microsoft CPS Burnsville, MN, May 14, 2007 — Nor-Tech has been invited to participate as an exhibitor within the Microsoft Innovation Lounge & Welcome Expo at Microsoft’s Channel Partner Summit.
It is estimated that over 700 of Microsoft’s most strategic partners will be attending the 2007 MS CPS. Nor-Tech has been selected from thousands of OEM’s in the United States and Canada to showcase dynamic PC solutions. Nor-Tech will be demonstrating their innovative new Portable Cluster, a ruggedized and extremely mobile high-performance supercomputer. The go-anywhere HPC cluster lives up to its name, not only because of its easy portability, but also its operational efficiency. Able to run up to 128 processor cores on just two 120VAC 20-amp circuits without generating excess heat, the Portable Cluster can be used in places and environments where this high level of computing was never practical, or even possible. The versatility of the lightweight Portable Cluster is bringing cluster computing out into the open, both figuratively and literally. Available in military shock mounted STD 19" rackmount cases that adhere to military standards such as MIL-STD-108, MIL-STD-648 and MIL-STD-810, the Portable Cluster is a practical solution to the demands of modern research and scientific computing. Nor-Tech has developed and built clusters for a wide variety of scientific applications, including projects funded by the NSF, NIH and DARPA. For more information, visit www.portableclusters.com.
