Nor-Tech chosen to host Portable Cluster Exhibitor Forum at SC07 Aug 15, 2007 Burnsville, MN, USA—August 15th, 2007 — Nor-Tech today announced it was chosen to host an exhibitor forum and unveil their revolutionary Portable Cluster at the Supercomputing '07 Conference (SC07) in Reno, NV.
SC07 is the premier international conference on high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis. Since 1988, the Supercomputing Conference has showcased the latest state-of-the-field developments in technology, applications, vendor products, research results, national policy and national/ international initiatives. SC07 is the one place attendees can see tomorrow’s technology being used to solve world-class challenge problems today. Organizations within the Supercomputing industry are now requiring high-performance computing that may be easily moved to various locations and have the energy efficiency to operate within standard AC power parameters. Nor-Tech has developed a line of Portable Clusters that are highly ruggedized and extremely mobile. The portable HPC clusters are lightweight and available in various portable rackmount cases including military shock mounted cases that adhere to MIL-SPEC standards. The mobile clusters run cool, save energy and are able to operate up to 128 processor cores on just two 120VAC 20-amp circuits About Nor-Tech Nor-tech has configured small and large HPC systems using a variety of Linux and Microsoft based OS's and cluster management suites, including Centos, FC, Suse, Rocks, SGE, Windows Compute Cluster Server and Rocks. Nor-tech currently has deployed clusters for both National Institute of Health and the National Science Foundation funded projects.
