Nor-Tech exhibits wide range of Portable Clusters at SC08

Austin, TX, USA—November 17, 2008 — Nor-Tech is introducing two new models of the award-winning Portable Cluster at the Supercomputing '08 Conference (SC08) in Austin, Texas.

Recognizing the need for high-performance computing (HPC) in the modern workplace Nor-Tech has developed a new line of Office Clusters. These fully customizable, compact supercomputers are designed to integrate easily into office environments and feature ultra-low-noise cooling and very efficient power usage. Maintenance is made simple thanks to the cabinet’s detachable rear and side access panels and cable management trays keep the unit uncluttered.

Further advancing Nor-Tech’s commitment to bring high-performance computing to the masses, the Workgroup Cluster is designed for organizations with a demand for shared, inter-departmental HPC. Workgroup Clusters are housed in a secure, lightweight cabinet that rolls easily from room to room. The cabinets feature gridded ventilation for maximum airflow and quick-release side panels and doors allow for convenient maintenance. Workgroup Clusters run on standard 120VAC 20-amp circuits, making them an extremely flexible HPC solution.

SC08 is the premier international conference on high performance computing, networking, storage and analysis.  Since 1988, the Supercomputing Conference has showcased the latest state-of-the-field developments in technology, applications, vendor products, research results, national policy and national/ international initiatives. These mobile supercomputers run cool, save energy and are able to operate up to 128 compute cores on two 120VAC 20-amp circuits.
