May 18, 2009 Terrafugia's Roadable Aircraft Nor-Tech Workgroup Cluster offer a lift to the world's first flying car Terrafugia has advanced civilian flight with the revolutionary integration of personal land and air travel made possible by the Transition® Roadable Aircraft. The Transition® combines the unique convenience of being able to fold its wings with the ability to drive on any surface road in a modern personal airplane platform. Nor-Tech is getting in on the action by providing a desktop cluster (16 processing cores) using Microsoft’s HPC Server 2008 software. In addition Nor-Tech will be loading Ansys Fluent CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) software and assisting the award-winning MIT-trained engineers who are developing the vehicle. Ushering in a new era of onsite, high-performance computing, Portable Clusters by Nor-Tech are highly ruggedized and extremely mobile. The mobile supercomputers run cool, save energy and are able to operate up to 128 compute cores on two 120VAC 20-amp circuits.
