Among the unique requirements for this supercomputer was the FAA had no available data center for this supercomputer. Nor-Tech integrated a custom POD NEMA 4 mobile rack cabinet with integrated cooling that allowed the installation of this supercomputer in a standard office space without datacenter air conditioning. Nor-tech worked with architectural engineers to plan items power load, heat exchangers and floor loading. The completed cluster had 1300 compute cores with a QDR InfiniBand fabric.

This equipment will be used for many medical studies related to aviation including the effects of radiation of passengers during upcoming sub-orbital flights. See this link for further information about upcoming sub-orbital flights:
